Man Shot Dead in Delta del Tigre, San Jose, Uruguay

A deadly shooting in the early hours of Wednesday left one man dead in Delta del Tigre, near Ciudad del Plata in San José. The victim, who has not been identified, suffered at least one gunshot wound to the head.

Neighbors reported hearing two shots and found the man lying in the street when they came out of their homes. Police arrived to find the man unresponsive on the ground.

Medical examiners confirmed a gunshot wound to the victim’s skull. While some people in the area said they recognized the victim, his identity remains unknown.

The shooting occurred at the intersection of Boreal and Esperanza streets around 12:20 am. Forensic experts collected evidence, which will be sent to the prosecution investigating the crime. Local police authorities were also at the scene.

This incident follows another similar homicide on Tuesday night, in which a 39-year-old man was shot twice in the head in El Pinar, Canelones.
