After two days of the hurricane fiona left the island of Puerto Rico, a man was found with only his chest and head sticking out, being swallowed by a mud puddle in Aibonitoa municipality in the central region of that country.
It’s about Puerto Rican Jose Ricardo Alvarado Berrioswho was lucky enough to be rescued and live to tell about it.
Alvarado BerrÃos told the Puerto Rico newspaper El Nuevo DÃa (ENDI) that I was trying to cross a road when suddenly a landslide occurred in which he was trapped.
“I didn’t see what happened, I thought there were some wild pigs out there and he was there. I tried to help him, but I couldn’t because I sank too,” said Luis BerrÃos Fuentes, a resident of the Robles neighborhood in Aibonito.
Given the impossibility of rescuing the man, BerrÃos Fuentes proceeded to call the authorities, who went to the rescue of Alvarado BerrÃos.
“The Emergency Management of the municipality of Aibonito rescued him by a miracle,” the neighbor told ENDI.
