Mamta Kulkarni, a former Bollywood actress, has been out of the spotlight for many years. After a 24-year absence, she returned to India and was appointed as the Mahamandaleshwar of Kinnar Akhara at the Mahakumbh. However, her appointment was met with disappointment and criticism from many saints and sadhus. The founder of Kinnar Akhara, Rishi Ajay Das, later dismissed her from this position, citing allegations that she had paid Rs 10 crore to secure the role.
The allegations against Mamta claim that she paid a large sum of money to become the Mahamandaleshwar of Kinnar Akhara. However, Mamta has denied these allegations, stating that she does not have the financial means to make such a payment. In a recent interview, she revealed that she does not even have Rs 1 crore, let alone Rs 10 crore. Mamta’s bank account has been seized by the government, and she is struggling to make ends meet. She has had to borrow money to pay her guru’s dakshina, a fee paid to a spiritual teacher.
Mamta has spoken out about the difficulties she has faced, including the poor condition of her three apartments, which have been closed for 23 years. She had taken a pledge not to return to India until the court cases against her were resolved, and she spent 23 years in meditation, practicing Hatha Yoga and seeking spiritual enlightenment. During this time, she went without food and water for several days, seeking the guidance of Adishakti, a divine feminine energy. After 15 days of meditation, she reported having a vision of Bhagwati, a Hindu goddess.
Mamta began her career in Bollywood in 1992 with the film “Tiranga.” She went on to appear in several successful films, including “Awwal Number,” “Krantivir,” “Karan Arjun,” “Sabse Bada Khiladi,” and “Baazi.” She left the film industry in 2000 to pursue a spiritual path. Despite her past success, Mamta is now facing financial difficulties and is working to clear her name and rebuild her life.
