Real Mallorca has resumed training after a two-day break, and they’re gearing up for their upcoming match against Sevilla at Sánchez Pizjuán next Monday. The team has received some welcome news – Samu Costa and Manu Morlanes are back on the field. Although Morlanes is still working outside the group, it’s a step in the right direction.
As for Samu Costa, his return wasn’t entirely unexpected. He had been nursing a minor discomfort after a blow during the Osasuna match, which led to his cautious absence against Las Palmas. Antonio Sánchez’s speedy recovery allowed the coaching staff to give Samu a breather. On the other hand, Morlanes’ recovery timeline is still being closely monitored.
Doubts in the center of the field
The Aragonese midfielder suffered a sprain in the external collateral ligament of his left knee in mid-January, and his participation has been delayed. The recovery process has been slower than anticipated, and the club’s medical services are opting for caution to avoid any surprises. While his presence in Seville is uncertain, the goal is to have him ready on time.
Regardless of whether Morlanes and Samu Costa are available, they’ll face stiff competition from the trio that worked so well against Las Palmas – Mascarell in the pivot zone, and Darder and Dani Rodríguez as interiors. It won’t be easy for them to dislodge this well-functioning unit, but their return to training is undoubtedly a boost for the team.
