Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko has been issued a final warning by the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) over allegations of drug use and misconduct on set. The warning came after co-star Vincy Aloysius accused Chacko of using drugs and mistreating her during the filming of “Suthravakyam.”
FEFKA’s Statement
FEFKA General Secretary B. Unnikrishnan revealed that Chacko had used drugs at his workplace. “We’ve informed his family members to seek professional help to overcome his drug problem. If he breaks his promise not to cause further issues, we won’t work with him,” Unnikrishnan stated. He emphasized giving people a second chance to reform, but stressed this shouldn’t be seen as a weakness.
Apology and Settlement
Vincy Aloysius filed a complaint with FEFKA’s internal committee, seeking to resolve the matter within the industry without involving law enforcement. Following an internal meeting, Chacko apologized to Aloysius and assured her it wouldn’t happen again.
Arrest and Bail
The government launched a raid in connection with a drug case, leading to Chacko’s arrest after a four-hour interrogation by the Kochi police. Initially, he attempted to evade police by fleeing from a hotel. He was later released on bail. Aloysius had stated in her complaint that she refused to work with someone who used drugs.
