Former Malayalam child actor Hari Murali was found dead at his home in Payyannur in the Kannur district of Kerala on Thursday morning. The 27-year-old was discovered hanging, prompting local police to launch a formal investigation into the circumstances of his death.
Payyannur authorities registered a case for unnatural death under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita. His body was initially shifted to the Baby Memorial Hospital for preliminary procedures before an inquest was conducted.
Following the inquest, his remains were transferred to the Kannur Government Medical College hospital in Pariyaram, where an official autopsy will confirm the exact cause of death.
Murali, the son of theatre artist and actor K.A. Murali, entered the Malayalam film industry at the age of six. He debuted in director Lal Jose’s 2004 film “Rasikan” and went on to feature in nearly 50 cinematic projects as a child artist.
His filmography includes prominent titles such as the 2006 release “The Don”, alongside 2008’s “Annan Thampi” and “Madampi”, and 2009’s “Ee Pattanathil Bhootham”.
Beyond theatrical releases, Murali maintained a consistent presence on television. He starred in approximately 40 Malayalam serials during his early career, appearing in popular shows including “Kuttichathan” and “Kayamkulam Kochunni”.
