South superstar Vijay Deverakonda’s film ‘Kingdom’ also struggled to find its footing. Still, ‘Mahavatar Narsimha’ managed to hold its own quite well for a Monday, showing surprising strength.
The box office tells an interesting story. ‘Mahavatar Narsimha’ had a fantastic weekend. However, those numbers slipped on Monday, which is typical for week-day screenings. ‘Kingdom’ faced similar challenges, not performing as strongly as hoped.
An Unexpected Box Office Champion
‘Mahavatar Narsimha’ truly captured audience hearts. Even with big-name action films like ‘Saiyaara’, ‘Son of Sardar 2’, and ‘Dhadak 2’ in theaters, along with ‘Kingdom’, this animated film shone. On its eleventh day, ‘Mahavatar Narsimha’ pulled in about 4.6 crore rupees. That’s a decent amount compared to its competitors.

What’s even more amazing is its small budget of just 4 crore rupees. The movie made back its production cost in only two days. It looks like ‘Mahavatar Narsimha’ will soon join the exclusive 100 crore club.

The Ancient Story That Resonated
The movie’s plot comes from ancient Hindu texts. It tells the story of Narsimha, the fourth form of Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu takes on a half-human, half-lion shape. He appears to protect the child Prahlad and defeat the cruel demon Hiranyakashyap. This tale of devotion, faith, and standing up for what is right clearly moved the audience deeply.
‘Kingdom’ Loses Its Momentum
On the other side of the box office, Vijay Deverakonda’s action drama ‘Kingdom’ seems to be losing its sparkle. On Saturday, the film earned 8 crore rupees. By Sunday, its earnings dropped to 7 crore rupees. Then, on its fifth day, Monday, the collection saw an even bigger fall, hitting only 1.23 crore rupees.

The film’s total earnings currently stand at 42.13 crore rupees. However, given its budget and the expectations surrounding a star like Vijay Deverakonda, this figure is not considered satisfactory.

A Police Officer’s Conflict
In ‘Kingdom’, Vijay Deverakonda plays a dedicated police officer. He is sent on a mission that forces him to fight against his own brother. The movie does a good job showing the clash between family ties and duty. But viewers did not find enough fresh ideas or depth in the story. This might be why the film could not hold on to its audience for very long.
