China US News: Former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad appeared openly in support of China on Friday. Mohammad accused the US of trying to instigate a war between China and Taiwan. The former prime minister expressed hope in an interview that Malaysia’s “corrupt” ruling party would hold general elections in the coming months. Mahathir, a two-time Prime Minister of Malaysia, is considered a critic of the West and its geopolitics. Mahathir Mohammad has spoken on Kashmir many times and has taken Pakistan’s side on many occasions.
‘China could have attacked Taiwan if it wanted’
Now in the latest statement, Mahathir Mohamad has said that the US is working to anger China through the recent visit of Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi. Mahathir, 97, said, ‘China has allowed Taiwan to remain autonomous. He didn’t attack. If he wanted to attack he could do so, but he didn’t. America is provoking them so that there will be war and the Chinese government makes the mistake of attacking. After this, America will sell a huge amount of weapons to Taiwan, saying that it will help.
Mahathir was always against India on Kashmir
By the way, Mahathir Mohammad has been speaking a lot not only on China and Taiwan but also on Kashmir issue. While being the Prime Minister, he had said many things against India on the issue of Kashmir and Article 370, although his statements were largely opposed in his own country. A few days after making unrestrained rhetoric on Kashmir, he had to lose his Prime Minister’s post due to various political reasons. Mahathir Mohammad had fiercely opposed India on the Citizenship Act i.e. CAA.
