Magnitude 6 earthquake felt in Pakistan

A powerful earthquake has hit Pakistan. The earthquake that struck on Sunday morning shook several parts of Pakistan as well as several parts of India’s capital, Delhi. Its magnitude was 6 on the Richter scale.

According to a report of The Dawn about the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), several parts of Pakistan were shaken due to the earthquake that struck on Sunday morning. The earthquake measured 6 on the Richter scale and was centered in the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border region.

The earthquake struck at a depth of 223 km from the surface. Tremors were felt in several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Moreover, tremors were also felt in the capital Islamabad and neighboring Rawalpindi.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Disaster Management Authority said tremors were felt in different parts of the province. But no damage has been reported so far.

Meanwhile, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said an earthquake of magnitude 5.2 struck 35 kilometers southeast of Jurm, Afghanistan. The earthquake that happened on Sunday morning shook Afghanistan and some other parts including the capital of India, New Delhi.
