Maggie Baugh just dropped a sneak peek of her new song, "The Devil Win." The lyrics really make you think, especially with all the buzz about her connection to Keith Urban. She sings about fighting off strong "feelings." It certainly feels like a reflection of the recent headlines.
The 25-year-old artist shared a video on Instagram this past Thursday, October 9th. In it, Baugh sings, "I don’t know what the hell I believe, I don’t know how to heal my soul. I don’t know how to fight this feeling, and it’s a very good place to go. No matter how close I am to the burning edge, as tempting as it is, I won’t let the devil win." These powerful words surely got people talking. The full song is set to release on Friday, October 10th, at midnight.
Baugh first introduced "The Devil Win" on Wednesday, October 8th. This came after she hinted at an "announcement coming soon" two days earlier. This new music from Baugh arrives right after a controversy involving 57-year-old Keith Urban. Just recently, Urban announced his separation from his wife, 58-year-old Nicole Kidman.
The whole situation began during Urban’s concert on September 25th in Chicago. He performed his song "The Fighter," which was originally inspired by Kidman. But that night, he shared the stage with Baugh and changed some of the lyrics. It seemed like a direct nod to her. Instead of singing, "When they’re tryna get to you, baby, I’ll be the fighter," Urban sang, "When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie, I’ll be your guitar player." In another moment, Urban appeared to point at Baugh while singing, "I was born to love you."
Baugh posted footage of these moments on Instagram on September 26th. She added a caption that translated to, "Did he just say that?" The video quickly went viral. This happened days before the news broke that Urban and Kidman were ending their 19-year marriage. Reports from Us Weekly confirmed the separation on September 29th. Kidman filed for divorce the next day, citing "irreconcilable differences" in court papers obtained by Us Weekly.

Amidst whispers that Maggie might have played a part in Urban and Kidman’s marriage ending, the violinist’s father, Chuck Baugh, shot down the speculation. On October 5th, he posted on Facebook, writing "NO. Just no" next to a TikTok video. That TikTok claimed Maggie could be "allegedly responsible for Keith’s divorce from Nicole Kidman."
Urban took the stage for the first time after his divorce on October 2nd. This was at the Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. He wasn’t wearing his wedding ring, but he did keep a photo of Kidman and their two daughters in a pre-made slideshow. This photo, showing Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, played during his song "Heart Like a Hometown." Maggie was not at that Hershey concert. Urban also hasn’t performed "The Fighter" since the Chicago incident.
Urban and Kidman tied the knot in 2006. They had met a year earlier at the G’Day USA gala in Los Angeles. While their split caught many fans off guard, some had already sensed trouble. The couple hadn’t been seen together in public since a football game in June. Also, Urban and Kidman hadn’t shared photos of each other on social media for months. Urban’s last post featuring the Big Little Lies star was in May. Kidman, for her part, shared a picture of Urban in June to celebrate their wedding anniversary.
