Maggie Baugh Returns to Instagram After Keith Urban Divorce, Lyric Change Speculation

The entertainment world is still buzzing with recent developments. Keith Urban, 57, and Nicole Kidman, 58, have officially ended their 19-year marriage. As the dust settles, rising country star Maggie Baugh, 25, is now at the center of growing speculation. She recently broke her social media silence, sparking even more chatter.

Baugh made her comeback to Instagram on Monday, October 6. She shared a simple, all-black image. The mysterious caption read, "Announcement coming soon…" Her return has only amplified rumors about her connection to Urban. These whispers started gaining traction even before the news of his split from Kidman.

The rumors really took off after a video resurfaced from Urban’s "High and Alive Tour." In the clip, Urban changed the lyrics to his hit song, "The Fighter." This song was originally inspired by Kidman. The original line goes, "When they try to get to you, baby, I’ll be the fighter." But in this performance, he altered it to acknowledge Baugh, who has joined him on stage for duets of the song many times.

Before his separation from Kidman on Monday, September 29, Urban sang, "When they try to get to you, Maggie, I’ll be your guitarist." This particular performance was captured and shared by Baugh herself on Instagram. She posted it on September 27, along with her surprised reaction: "Did he just say that?"

Adding more fuel to the fire, an older clip from Urban’s Las Vegas concert in April also came back into view. In that video, the Australian-American country star seemed to point across the stage at Baugh during "The Fighter." He sang the line, "I was born to love you," but then swapped it out for, "Maggie, I’ll be your fighter."

As speculation grew that Maggie played a part in Urban’s divorce from Kidman, her father, Chuck Baugh, stepped in. He spoke out on social media, denying the rumors on Wednesday, October 1. Chuck took to Facebook, sharing a TikTok video that suggested his daughter "could ‘supposedly [be] the person responsible for Keith’s divorce from Nicole Kidman.’" His response, as reported by TMZ, was firm: "NO. Just no." A leading entertainment publication, Us Weekly, confirmed Nicole Kidman filed for divorce from Urban on Tuesday, September 30.

Urban played his first concert since the separation announcement on Thursday, October 2, at the Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Fans noticed Maggie Baugh was not on stage that night. Instead, Natalie Stovall, another member of Urban’s band, filled in. Interestingly, "The Fighter" was left out of the setlist entirely.

Us Weekly confirmed the separation of Kidman and Urban after their 19 years of marriage on a Monday. Kidman then filed for divorce the very next day, a Tuesday, September 30. Her petition cited "irreconcilable differences." Court documents, also obtained by Us Weekly, showed that the filing included a marital dissolution agreement signed by both stars. This agreement covered a parenting plan, child support arrangements, and even an "order for parenting seminar." Kidman and Urban are parents to Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith, 14.

While Kidman signed the divorce papers on September 6 and Urban on August 29, the Babygirl actress stated September 30 as their official separation date. The split surprised many fans. However, some had already guessed there were problems. The couple hadn’t been seen together publicly for several months. Their last joint appearance was in June, at the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 match in Nashville.

In the time leading up to the separation news, both Urban and Kidman had also been quiet about each other on social media. Urban last shared a photo of Kidman in May. That was after he won the Triple Crown Award at the Academy of Country Music Awards. Kidman, meanwhile, last posted a tribute to Urban in June, for their anniversary.
