Mads Pedersen took the lead in the Giro 108 after a thrilling sprint finish on Sunday. The 29-year-old Danish cyclist from Lidl-Trek crossed the line first, beating Corbin Strong and Orluis Aular.
The 160 km stage, which took place in Vlorë, Albania, ended with Pedersen finishing in 3:49:47 hours. He took the pink jersey back from Primoz Roglic, who led the race the day before. Roglic, the 2023 Giro winner, is now 9 seconds behind Pedersen in the overall standings.

The bonus time Pedersen received for winning the stage helped him regain the top spot. Afonso Eulálio finished 90th, 3:15 minutes behind Pedersen, and is currently 98th in the overall standings, 13:04 minutes behind the leader. The peloton will head to Italy for the next stage, which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday.
