Bollywood icon Madhuri Dixit is poised for a significant streaming return with her new series, ‘Mrs. Deshpande.’ The trailer for the thriller, directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, premiered on Monday in Mumbai, generating considerable buzz.
Dixit has described her role as one of her most “multi-layered characters,” hinting at a surprising and distinctive portrayal for her fanbase. The series delves into a dark narrative, a departure for the acclaimed actress.
The newly released trailer showcases Dixit’s character implicated in a series of murders, with victims found killed by a rope. Police investigating the case note the use of a nylon rope and bodies strategically placed before mirrors, drawing parallels to a serial killer active 25 years prior.
In the trailer, Dixit’s character engages with the police, maintaining her innocence and suggesting an imitator is at work. She proposes a deal, offering her assistance in the investigation in exchange for a personal request. The trailer deliberately keeps the true killer’s identity a mystery.
