Macron asks “rich non-European countries” to “pay their share” in the climate fight

The French president, Emmanuel Macron, assured on Monday, on the sidelines of the COP27 in Egypt, that he wants "press" a "rich non-european countries" what for "pay your share" when it comes to helping poor countries in the fight against climate change.

"The United States and China must respond" to this challenge since Europeans are "the only ones who pay"he explained at a meeting with young people in Sharm el Sheikh, where the 27th UN climate conference was opened.

In his opinion, France and Europe in general are on the right track to reduce emissions. But the big emerging countries "have to leave quickly" coal as an energy source.
