M1 Max GPU improves M1 performance by 3x in benchmarks

A few days ago, performance tests revealed that the M1 Max chipset that Apple introduced in the new MacBook Pros was almost twice as fast as the original M1.

That’s pretty impressive given that the M1 is no small feat, but What about the GPU?

The good news is that it appears that Apple’s assertions during the presentation were correct. According to a result published in Geekbench, the GPU of the M1 Max is three times faster than that of the M1.

However, it’s not clear which configuration of the M1 Max is because the chipset is offered in 24-core and 32-core GPU options.

That said, while these benchmarks are promising, we cannot guarantee their accuracy until the first units are shipped.

Apple said it has compared its new M1 chipsets with high-end laptops, but since it hasn’t specified GPU models, configurations or specs, it’s hard to say what performance to expect.
