Lyricist Kaushal Kishore is currently generating buzz for his latest work, “Qubool,” a song featured in the upcoming film “Haq.” The track has resonated strongly with audiences since its release, quickly becoming a talking point for its profound emotional depth. Kishore describes the song not merely as a composition, but as a deeply personal “emotion” that holds a special place in his heart, given its connection to the film’s powerful narrative.
The film “Haq” features a notable cast including Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam. Vishal Mishra is credited with composing the music for the project. The synergy between Kishore’s lyrics and Mishra’s melodies is already a highlight, as “Qubool” is the first song to be unveiled from the soundtrack.
Unusually, “Qubool” was penned by Kishore after the film had already completed shooting. This unconventional process allowed the lyricist to draw direct inspiration from the visuals and narrative. He explained that after reviewing the shot footage, he perceived the story as one centered on a woman’s journey of acceptance. The character Shah Bano, in particular, embodied a profound acceptance of her relationships, circumstances, and pain, marked by an absence of complaint and a strong sense of belonging. This emotional surrender directly inspired the word and feeling of “Qubool,” meaning “acceptance.”
Kishore reiterates his deep personal connection to the project, stating that working on a story like Shah Bano’s was a true honor. He expressed satisfaction in being able to give voice to her experiences through his words, predicting that the story and its sentiments will remain with him indefinitely.
His professional collaboration with composer Vishal Mishra is also noteworthy. Kishore highlights their close bond, describing their relationship as fraternal rather than just professional, often spending 15 to 16 hours a day together. He explains that while sometimes he provides the words and Mishra the tune, they consistently complete songs as a unified team, asserting that their friendship is their greatest strength.
