Singer Lucky Ali has issued an apology following controversial remarks he made about lyricist Javed Akhtar on social media. The dispute stemmed from Ali’s comments on a viral video featuring Akhtar. Ali stated that his previous words were a “mistaken communique” and expressed regret.
Ali’s apology, shared on his social media, read, “what I meant was that arrogance is ugly…. it was a mistaken communique’ on my part…. monsters may have feelings too and I apologise if I hurt anyones monstrosity…….”

This public apology came days after Ali initially targeted Akhtar on platform X, previously known as Twitter. He had commented on a user’s post about Akhtar, calling him a “very bad human being.” This initial statement quickly ignited a heated debate online.
The controversy originated from an older video of Javed Akhtar that recently recirculated. In the clip, Akhtar discussed religious intolerance in society. He used the film “Sholay” as an example of a film that could be made in 1975 but might not be possible today.
During this discussion, Akhtar made a statement widely interpreted as contentious. He advised, “Don’t become like Muslims, make them like you.” This particular phrase sparked widespread criticism and debate among users.
Lucky Ali’s initial critical post was a response to a user named Irena Akbar. This user had shared the video clip and suggested the West Bengal Urdu Academy had withdrawn an invitation to Akhtar because of his comments.
Javed Akhtar tells Hindus, “Don’t become like Muslims. Make them like you. Don’t become like Muslims. It’s a tragedy.”
West Bengal Urdu Academy was right in withdrawing its invitation to this shameless bigot masquerading as a wise man.

The entire episode led to significant discussion across social media platforms. Supporters of both Ali and Akhtar expressed differing opinions on the matter. While some praised Ali’s humility in apologizing, others commented on his sudden change of stance.
