The Isurus Estral team suffered a tough loss to paiN Gaming in the LTA Sul League of The Americas tournament on Saturday. Following the match, jungler Brandon “Josedeodo” Villegas spoke to the press about the team’s struggles. While they had a strong first split, finishing top in the southern region, their second season has been marred by a string of losses.
Struggling to Finish Games
Josedeodo pointed out that the team’s main issue is a lack of decisiveness. “I think we’re lacking decisiveness,” he said. “We’re fighting too much or taking too many risks.” The team isn’t being assertive enough, often failing to respond effectively to adversity. According to Josedeodo, the team’s experience isn’t the problem – “everyone has a lot of experience playing” – but rather their inability to capitalize on it.
The team’s practice sessions, known as scrims, aren’t fully preparing them for the competition. Josedeodo noted that situations arise during matches that don’t occur during scrims. To turn things around, he believes the team needs to be more confident in their decisions and “grab onto” their choices.
