In a surprising turn at the box office, the lower-budget film ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ has emerged as a clear winner in terms of profitability, outperforming the higher-grossing ‘Thamma’. Both films completed 17 days in cinemas after a simultaneous release.
‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’, starring Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa, premiered on October 21. The film generated approximately $1.08 million on its opening day. Its first-week collection reached about $6.62 million.
On its 16th day, the film added approximately $0.23 million. Initial figures for Day 17 indicate a collection of around $0.10 million. The total box office earnings for ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ now stand at approximately $8.52 million.

Produced with a budget of roughly $3.6 million, ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ has secured a “superhit” status. Its strong performance against its production cost marks it as a significant success.
Conversely, ‘Thamma’, a horror-comedy from Madock’s Horror Comedy Universe, features Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna. It opened with an impressive $2.88 million. The film’s first-week earnings were approximately $13.01 million.
‘Thamma’ collected around $0.23 million on its 16th day. Its initial Day 17 figures are estimated at $0.09 million, with potential for further increase later in the day. The film’s total box office collection has reached approximately $15.20 million.

Despite its higher gross collection, ‘Thamma’ has not yet recovered its production cost. The film was made with an estimated budget of $17.40 million.
The disparity in profitability highlights ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ as the stronger performer in this box office race. It has demonstrated robust commercial success compared to its cost.
