Love In Vietnam: India-Vietnam Film Debuts in Korea

The Indian film “Love In Vietnam,” starring Avneet Kaur and Shantanu Maheshwari, is slated for release in Korea on December 8. This international debut follows its initial release in India.

The romantic drama premiered in India on September 12. It saw a modest performance at the domestic box office.

Directed by Rahat Shah Kazmi, the film draws inspiration from Sabahattin Ali’s best-selling novel, “Madonna in a Fur Coat.”

It marks a notable cinematic milestone as the first collaborative project between India and Vietnam in Hindi cinema.

Lead actress Avneet Kaur expressed her excitement regarding the Korean release. She shared her joy, stating she was “happy to know how much Korean audiences love this film.”

Kaur considered the Korean release to be “no less than a gift.” She hopes to attend the premiere to personally thank the audiences for embracing their story.

Shantanu Maheshwari also conveyed his delight at the film reaching Korean cinemas. He highlighted the “happiest part is how Korean fans react to the subtle emotional nuances.”

Maheshwari noted that “they pay attention to things we didn’t expect outside India and Vietnam.” He has always maintained a curiosity about Korea’s artistic culture.

For Maheshwari, this release represents a “full circle” moment. He expressed a desire to “visit, meet, and talk to the audience” during the film’s run.
