LOUD’s Three-Time LoL Champion Route Departs for Military Service

A top South Korean League of Legends player is departing a major Brazilian esports team to fulfill mandatory military service, highlighting the impact of national conscription on global athletic careers.

Moon “Route” Geom-su, a celebrated marksman, concluded his tenure with Brazil’s LOUD team late Thursday. His departure is mandatory as he must begin military service in his home country.

Route is widely regarded as one of the most impactful foreign players in Brazil’s League of Legends scene. He played a crucial role in LOUD securing three championships in the CBLOL, Brazil’s premier League of Legends league.

His nearly three-year journey with LOUD began in December 2022. The organization praised his contributions, acknowledging his unique legacy among foreign players.

LOUD expressed its farewell in a social media post.

Before joining LOUD, Route had a professional career that included stints with teams such as APK Prince, Dark Passage, Galakticos, JAG, and SANDBOX GAMING.

Reports from esports portal Sheep Esports indicate LOUD is set to replace Route with another South Korean player, Song “Bull” Seon-gyu. Bull previously played in the LCK, South Korea’s top-tier league, for BRION earlier this year.

The rumored 2025 LOUD lineup includes Carlos Felipe “xyno” Ferreira in the top lane, Ko “YoungJae” Yeong-jae in the jungle, and Jean “Mago” Dias in the mid lane. Bull would fill the AD carry role, with Ygor “RedBert” Flores as support. Oh “Raise” Ji-hwan and Diego “Sephis” Jara are listed as coaches.
