Pablo, a 2-year-old jagdterrier, traveled 380 km between Savoy, where his owners were on vacation, and Gard where they live.
The story unfolded last week. Returning from a trip to Italy, Catherine and Roger, a couple from the Gard from Bezouce, made a stopover in Saint-Martin-de-Belleville. As relates France Blue Gard-Lozère, their dog then goes for a short walk, alone, as he usually does. But this time, Pablo is not coming back.
After long hours of waiting and a night spent there, the couple reports the disappearance of their four-legged companion and goes to the family in Ain. Several days later, a friend of the couple responsible for monitoring their home sends them a photo by text message: Pablo is there, in front of the house.

The emaciated but still alive dog
“I couldn’t believe it, it was a real moment of happiness,” Catherine told France Bleu. With 380 km in the paws, the animal had returned emaciated but very much alive.
The couple have since invested in a GPS collar and are still wondering how their dog made it home safe and sound: “If someone could have seen him and contact us, that would be great!” .
