The Los Robles team was proclaimed champion for the third year followed by the Children’s Baseball Rally, which had the support of the National Institute of Physical Education (Inefi).
Los Robles were undefeated during the tournament and disposed of Pichulo Team 13-5 this weekend during the game that took place at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center.
Yoandry Mendoza, from Los Robles, was elected the Most Valuable Player of the sixth version of the tournament that brought together 360 children aged 9-10 years and were divided into 24 teams.
The fair took place over three weeks and also had the support of Gatorade, the VIVI Sports Group and the Little League Classic Foundation.
After winning the tournament, Los Robles received 200,000 pesos to be used in sports props and equipment for their play. The champion trophy was delivered by Quilvio Veras, Little League Baseball National Commissioner.
“Thanks to the VIVI group and the Little League Foundation for holding this tournament that serves as a stage to promote sports practice and see the future Major Leaguers,” said Veras during the delivery of the highest award to Los Robles.
For his part, Ambiorix Vidal, organizer of the tournament, congratulated the players from the 24 participating teams and urged them to continue working hard to achieve their goals.
