Lorene Bazolo equals Portuguese 100m record with 11.10 seconds win in Braga

Lorene Bazolo sprints to the finish line in 11.10 seconds, matching her own Portuguese record in the 100 meters at the Braga athletics meeting.
She first achieved this time back in August 2021, in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.
Recently, she ran 11.05 seconds with an irregular wind of 2.1 meters per second, threatening her own record.

With a wind of 1.9 m/s, almost at the limit for valid marks, Bazolo took advantage of the excellent conditions to win.
She beat Spanish athlete Maria Isabel Pérez, who finished in 11.26 seconds, and Gorete Semedo from Sao Tome, who finished in 11.27 seconds.

Bazolo was just three hundredths of a second away from direct qualification for the Tokyo 2025 World Championships.
But with her good ranking, she’s unlikely to miss out.
The seventh edition of the Braga Meeting, held at the 1.º de Maio Stadium, is a bronze-level event in the World Continental Tour, which means it offers bonus points for world rankings – one way to get into the World Championships.
