Major League Baseball plans to stage regular season games in London in 2023, 2024 and 2026.
The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox shared wins in a two-game series at London’s Olympic Stadium in June 2019. The St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs had planned to play again in the British capital on June 13 and 14, 2020, but that series was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Looking ahead to next year, the Cardinals and Cubs loom as favorites to host games in London.
Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred and London Mayor Sadiq Khan announced Monday the formation of an organization that seeks to cement the sport’s legacy in London and includes officials from the city government and the national baseball and softball federation.
MLB has planned a Home Run Derby at Crystal Palace Park on July 9 this year.
