LoL: RED Canids Tockers Snaps Brazil’s 9-Year International MD5 Drought

A Brazilian team has finally claimed victory in an international League of Legends Best-of-5 series. This long-awaited win happened after nine years. RED Canids reached this important milestone on Sunday, September 14th. They defeated Shopify Rebellion with a tight 3-2 score. The match was part of the LTA Championship 2025, also known as the League of The Americas. This tournament brings together teams from both the LTA South and North regions.

This big win pushes RED Canids forward. They now face 100 Thieves in their next series. That upcoming match will decide who gets the final regional spot at Worlds 2025, which is the sport’s global championship. The last time a Brazilian organization won an international Best-of-5 was way back in 2016. That year, INTZ took a win at the International Wildcard Qualifier 2016 (IWCQ).

The IWCQ also served as a gateway to the Worlds championship. INTZ secured their spot by beating DarkPassage 3-2. What makes this story even more remarkable is the presence of one person across both victories. Gabriel “tockers” Claumann was the mid laner for INTZ in 2016. Today, he coaches RED Canids. This recent victory also marks the first time a Brazilian team has beaten a North American organization in a format longer than a single Best-of-1 game.

Tockers has now been part of Brazil’s only two international Best-of-5 wins. There is a full nine-year gap between these two significant moments. This really highlights why he is one of the most important figures in the region’s esports scene. RED Canids will return to play on September 21st at 5 PM Brasília time. They are still fighting for their spot at the LoL Worlds championship.
