Loana, the former reality TV star, victim of a big scam

This is not the first time that Loana Petrucciani, the former celebrity of the first season of Loft story, has been the victim of a scam. This time, the riffraff used the name and image of the former dancer, fraudulently and without authorization, to promote the merits of a slimming pill on the Internet, indignant Eryl Prayer, the lookalike of Elvis Presley and friend of the star on the social networks Thursday, May 5. “Beware false advertising! Loana Petrucciani has never used this product and even less given her consent to use her image for this brand,” he said on his Instagram account.

We can see in one of his stories a fake article from Le Figaro, in which Michel Cymes boasts of the effectiveness of a miracle pill, illustrated by photos of Loana Petrucciani, as well as other well-known personalities, such as Laurence Boccolini and Évelyne Thomas. In France, image rights are protected under the right to privacy, enshrined in Article 9 of the Civil Code and Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights. In theory, when a company wants to use and disseminate on the Internet a photograph of a person, whether known or not, it must obtain their written authorization. This text must also provide under what conditions these images will be used.

Recently, stars had alerted on another type of scam of which they are victims, namely the use, on social networks, of false accounts pretending to be them, like Julien Doré, or even Patrick Bruel. “It doesn’t stop!” had alerted the latter on his Instagram account on Thursday, March 24. “Fake accounts that are obviously impersonating me and asking you for money after having some kind of conversation or something,” he lamented at the time.
