.- The National Basketball League (LNB) has moved to Sunday the 23rd the start of the Final Series of the LNB Super League 2023, in solidarity with the president of the Titans of the National District Roberto Modesto for the death of his son Carlos Rafael Modesto.
Carlos Rafael, the youngest of Roberto Modesto’s three sons, was 18 years old and was frequently seen at Titanes games, especially those held at the San Cristóbal sports center.
Precisely last Wednesday the 19th he was at the home of the Titanes, supporting the team from the courtside, celebrating each basket and recording with his cell phone part of the moments of that decisive match against the Indios de San Francisco de Macorís that gave the Blues a pass to the final dispute for the championship.
The president of the LNB, Antonio Mir, spoke on behalf of the executive committee of the first division circuit and expressed his condolences to Roberto Modesto and his wife Ceila Peña de Modesto for the unfortunate loss of a young man full of dreams and many goals to achieve.
The entity extended its condolences to the entire Modesto family, asking God to cover them with his divine peace and to give them strength and comfort in this difficult moment.
The first game of the final of the LNB Super League will now be this Sunday, July 23 at 6:00 in the afternoon, keeping the Palacio de los Deportes Fernando Teruel as the venue.
The second meeting, and the first of the Titanes as hosts, will be on Tuesday the 25th at 8:00 pm at the San Cristóbal sports center. The series will be the best of 7 games.
