Lluc Crusellas, from best chocolatier in the world to titan

On October 31, 2022, his life changed. Lluc Crusellas, 26, after two years of intense training, became the best chocolatier in the world at the World Chocolate Master held at the Salon du Chocolat in Paris. Now, with that same passion, he will seek to become a titan, with the SKODA Titan Desert Morocco 2023, which will be held from April 30 to May 5 of next year, as his goal and the greatest sporting challenge of his life, always linked to cycling. “Cycling and pastry for me have always gone hand in hand. I believe that sport has given me the values of perseverance, sacrifice and attitude necessary to face my goals. Sport and connecting with nature is a great source of inspiration. The colors, the organic textures… I take ideas to later take them to the pastry shop ”, she explains.

Crusellas’ passion for cycling is so great that he has embroidered a detail that fans will appreciate: the rainbow flag on the neck of his jacket as a nod to the colors of the jersey worn by world cycling champions. With that same spirit that accompanies him in his day to day, Crusellas wants to face the six stages that make up the Titan World Series event. “The Titan means a lot to me. I still remember that, when I was little, they presented one of the first editions in Vic. That became a dream: to be able to go once in a lifetime to the Titan. This coming year is going to be fulfilled: I will be able to go to the Titan and enjoy it like that little boy who competed on a bike”.

For this, Lluc has relied on the most experienced team, that of KH-7, and the help of its captain, the Titan Legend Melcior Mauri. “For me it is a great luck to be in the KH-7 team with Melcior at the helm. He makes it easy for him to go. They will be able to solve any doubt and there I will have to worry about pedaling and enjoying the experience”. Before that, there is still an arduous road ahead: getting in shape, training on dune crossings, sailing… but this serves as motivation for him: “It is true that I have spent two years intensely preparing for the World Chocolate Championship. In this time I have trained less, but I have not stopped cycling. Now I have these months until the Titan starts to train to the fullest and enjoy it to the fullest”. And he adds that “the main fear I have is the heat it can get. Also the inexperience in this type of racing with the desert, the dunes, the sand… but I also like adventure. I know that I will be well wrapped up with the KH-7 team and I will be able to live this adventure to the fullest”.
