Although the player’s current contract has been improved in 2021, his weekly salary is expected to increase significantly, reaching around £250,000 per week, which would put him on par with the best full-backs in the world.

There are now rumors that both Barcelona and Real Madrid have shown active interest in Alexander-Arnold and his compatriot and international teammate Reece James. However, the player appears ready to commit his long-term future to his current club.

Sources confirm that talks with Alexander-Arnold are going well and Liverpool are confident the new contract will be finalized before the Christmas holidays.

Alexander-Arnold isn’t the only Liverpool full-back looking to secure his future at the club. Greek international Kostas Tsimikas is also apparently close to signing a contract extension.

Tsimikas’ current contract expires in 2025, but the player would be willing to extend it until 2027. Talks are nearing completion and the player, who has primarily acted as a replacement for Andy Robertson at left-back, has proven his mettle in more than 60 appearances for the club. Jürgen Klopp considers him to be a very important element in his squad.
