Liverpool are looking for one of the best central defenders in the Premier League: 60 million new signings

The Premier League transfer market is abuzz with moves planned for the upcoming summer transfer window and one of the hot targets is Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi. According to the Daily Telegraph, Liverpool have shown clear interest in acquiring the 23-year-old defender’s services. Although other teams such as Manchester United are also eyeing Guehi, Liverpool appear determined to add him to their ranks as part of their renewal plans.

Guehi, who was promoted to the Chelsea first team early in his career, found his true success when he moved to Crystal Palace in 2021 for a fee of £18 million. He has since become a key player in the Eagles’ defense, earning him a place in the England squad and interest from several Premier League clubs.

Guehi, in the sights of the big boys

Both Manchester United and Liverpool see Guehi as a valuable reinforcement for their respective teams. Dan Ashworth, the Red Devils’ next sporting director, is a huge admirer of the young centre-back’s talent and wants to secure his signing. Meanwhile, Liverpool, despite being in the midst of a transition in their technical and sporting direction, have identified Guehi as a priority to strengthen their defence.

However, Guehi’s possible return to Chelsea is not completely ruled out. Although the club does not have a buyback clause, the need to strengthen the defense following the departure of Thiago Silva could lead him to consider his return. With multiple options on the table, including the possibility of accepting any offer for Guehi, Chelsea have a major role to play in the fate of the promising England defender.
