Liverpool are applying to sign Zielinski

The winter transfer market is being portrayed as a crucial opportunity for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp is rumored to have his eye on Napoli’s Piotr Zielinski. The English club is reportedly ready to begin negotiations in January to sign the Polish midfielder, a desire of Klopp’s since the 2016 season.

After a summer window where the focus was on rebuilding the midfield, the recent departures of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson have left Liverpool with the task of further strengthening that area. Despite introducing four new names, Klopp appears determined to continue the improvement, with Zielinski emerging as an attractive option to revitalize the Reds’ midfield, according to TEAMTalk.

Liverpool continue to look to strengthen their midfield zone

Although there was previously speculation about André Trindade and Khephren Thuram, the focus is now on Zielinski. The Polish midfielder has shone with 66 appearances and 50 goals in his eighth season at Napoli, but his contract expires in July 2024. With extension talks stalling, Napoli could be prepared to sell in January to avoid a free exit at the end of the season.

Despite reports linking Zielinski with West Ham, Liverpool are believed to have a strong interest in the 29-year-old. Klopp, a great admirer of the Pole, would be willing to negotiate with Napoli on the current offer of €4 million per year. With Zielinski’s experience and proven quality, his arrival could be invaluable for Liverpool in the second half of the season. The January window represents a crucial phase in determining the next chapter in the career of this talented Polish midfielder.
