As promised, POCO today unveiled its latest entry-level smartphone. The time has come to welcome the POCO C55, an option designed for anyone looking for a device for around €100.
In short, the POCO C55 is a simple product, aimed at a group of users who do not demand much from their smartphone. It will be a good option for anyone looking for something for essential tasks, such as communicating with their contacts or browsing social networks.
POCO C55 is a perfect smartphone for the most basic tasks
The entry-level status of the POCO C55 can also be gauged by its aesthetic options. On the front we see a screen with thicker edges than the main models on the market and with a notch in the shape of a drop of water to house its front camera.
The back of the POCO C55 is covered in synthetic leather that will undoubtedly help the equipment to slip less in the hand. We also have a module for your rear camera covering a large part of the structure of the product to also include the brand logo.
Since we are talking about the back of the POCO C55, here is a set of two cameras. The main one has a 50 MP resolution and comes with a 2 MP lens for depth measurements.
Still in this module you can find a capacitive fingerprint sensor to the right of the POCO C55 cameras. This location helps keep the rear of the machine clean.
MediaTek Helio G85 is the heart of the POCO C55
The state of this smartphone can also be gauged by the processor it possesses. In this case, we have a MediaTek Helio G85, introduced in April 2020, still manufactured in the 12nm lithographic process.
Memory schemes include 4 or 6 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of storage. This space can be expanded thanks to the support for microSD memory cards, something rare in the most expensive models on the market.
The screen of the POCO C55 is an IPS LCD with a diagonal of 6.74 inches with HD + resolution. We have a panel with a refresh rate of just 60 Hz and a touch response rate of 120 Hz.
Powering this hardware we have a 5000 mAh battery with 10 W charging. Its software could and should be more up to date, since the POCO C55 arrives with MIUI 13 still based on Android 12.
Finally, it should be noted that the POCO C55 was presented in India for the equivalent of €107. We do not yet have information on the global availability of this model.
