Several major news websites just published the news that Walmart would accept Litecoin as a means of payment, but the news appears to be fake.
Litecoin partnership with Walmart is fake news
A press release from what appeared to be Walmart was sent out to major news platforms today. In this press release, Walmart announced that it had entered into a partnership with Litecoin, allowing customers to pay for goods using the LTC token.
A number of major news platforms published the news causing the Litecoin price to suddenly skyrocket by more than 20%. However, moments later it turned out that the information probably appears to be fake news. The email address used to send the press release was only created last month and there has been no confirmation from official Walmart social media accounts about the partnership.
