The people of Lisbon have made their choice, and it seems they favor a familiar path. Carlos Moedas, who led the PSD/CDS-PP/IL coalition for the Lisbon City Council, stepped forward to claim victory in Sunday’s municipal elections. He told supporters that voters decided to keep moving forward with the plan first set in motion back in 2021.
Around 1:30 AM, Moedas arrived at his election night headquarters, a hotel close to the Marquês de Pombal area. This spot holds a special echo for him; it’s the very same place where, four years ago, he celebrated first becoming the city’s mayor. He emphasized that residents want this ongoing project to continue for another four years.
