Lily Allen Wears Daring Underboob Bralette to CFDA Awards

Lily Allen made a striking appearance at the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) awards. The 40-year-old artist attended the event in New York City on Monday, November 3. This public outing followed the recent release of her new album, ‘West End Girl.’

The album reportedly references her recent separation from husband David Harbour.

Allen donned a bold ensemble from breakthrough designer nominee Colleen Allen. Her all-white, lingerie-inspired look featured a long skirt and a bra that showcased her underboob. For photographs, she removed a floor-length blouse, revealing sheer lace on the skirt’s back.

She kept accessories minimal, opting for neutral makeup, heels, and delicate gold hoop earrings. Her dark hair was styled in a polished updo, drawing attention to her signature fringe.

Speaking with The Cut on the white carpet, Allen described her outfit as “brutal” and “fun, classic – this is it.”

‘West End Girl’ has garnered significant positive feedback since its October release. Allen recorded the album in just 10 days in December, the same month she separated from Harbour after four years of marriage. Harbour was 50 at the time of their split.

Allen clarified to Interview magazine last month that the album “is not a cruel album.” She added, “I don’t feel like I’m being mean. They were just the feelings I was processing at the time.”

She reflected on the experience, stating, “Now I feel very different about the whole situation. We all go through breakups, and it’s always tough.” Allen noted the uncommon nature of writing about a breakup while still experiencing it.

The singer dismissed suggestions of a “revenge album,” despite lyrics that seem to address an unfaithful partner. She insisted, “I don’t need revenge.”

Allen explained she was “really trying to process things, and that’s fine for the record, but now I don’t feel confused or angry.”

‘West End Girl’ marks Allen’s first album since 2018’s ‘No Shame.’ During the seven-year gap, the London-born artist moved to New York City with the “Stranger Things” actor.

They purchased a home in Brooklyn, which was featured in a viral Architectural Digest tour.

The former couple is now reportedly selling the Brooklyn residence for nearly $8 million.

On her new record, Allen sings about discovering a text from “Madeline” on her partner’s phone. This leads to a confrontation within the song.

In a track named after the other woman, Allen asks, “How long has this been going on? Is it just sex or is there emotion?”

David Harbour also appears to be moving forward. In an Esquire UK interview published November 1, he expressed hope for his next 50 years to be “filled with more complex, richer stories.”

Harbour also mentioned personal goals. He stated, “Then, of course, there are personal things I want to do, and people I want to love and treat well and take care of, things like that.”
