Vladimir Guerrero father finds happiness to the fullest.
His sense of pride has squandered him with four posts on his Instagram account in which he has celebrated and congratulated his son, Dominican baseball player Vladimir Guerrero Jr, after he won the 2023 All-Star Game Home Run Derby.
“Proud of you my son. Champion of the home run competition. Congratulations my son”wrote the member of the Baseball Hall of Fame in his official account, with photographs and videos of the Blue Jays star celebrating his conquest.
This sentiment has been twofold, as Guerrero Sr. and his offspring have become the first father-son duo to win the Home Run Derby, becoming a historic milestone for baseball.
The former baseball player won it in 2007, while this Monday (16 years later) Vladimir Jr. did it, after beating Cuban Randy Arozarena, of the Tampa Bay Rays.
The tournament took place at T-Mobile Park, in Seattle, United States.
“My champion, pride does not fit in my chest,” the former Major League star continued to write, accompanied by an audiovisual of the moment in which his son celebrated his victory with the trophy in the presence of hundreds of thousands of fans.
His last publication was a collage in which he is seen next to the young slugger, in batting position, reflecting two different eras of that competition.
“Like father, like son”, with this famous phrase Guerrero Sr. ended his series of publications.
