Lezica Robbery Investigation Yields 27kg Cocaine Paste, Police Officer, Teen Arrested

The quiet neighborhood of Lezica recently saw a dramatic twist in a violent crime investigation. What started as a hunt for a robber who shot a man quickly uncovered a shocking secret: a major drug operation connected to a police officer. This story began on July 4th, when a couple was violently robbed on the corner of Camino de la Redención and Camino Melilla. During the attack, the man was shot, sparking a serious police search.

Investigators from Operational Zone IV got to work right away. They gathered intelligence, a fancy word for collecting clues, and soon believed the robbers were still hiding nearby. This led them to ask for search warrants for three different homes in the area. What they found during these raids on Thursday was far more than just robbery suspects.

One of the first houses police entered was on Galileo Street. A man inside tried to run away but officers quickly caught him. They found a pistol and a backpack full of cash in the house. This man was arrested, though he was later released.

The real surprise came during two other raids on Tacuaty Street. One of these homes belonged to a female police officer. Inside, officers found a whopping 19 bricks of crack paste. The illegal drug was stashed in her son’s bedroom. Next to it, they discovered a shoulder bag containing a precision scale. This type of scale is often used to carefully measure out drug doses. The officer and one of her daughters were immediately taken into custody. Her son, however, is now wanted by the police.

Just a short distance away, about 30 meters from the officer’s house, police raided a third home. There, they arrested a 17-year-old teenager. Police believe this young person was involved in that original robbery on July 4th. He was found with 7 kilograms of crack paste and more money.

In total, police seized 27 kilograms of crack paste across these operations. Four people were initially detained: the police officer, her daughter, the teenager, and the man from Galileo Street. However, the man who tried to escape was released, leaving three still facing charges. News Agency, a local news source, reported these details from the investigation.

Police sources told News Agency that all the drug bricks found had the same distinct symbol. This detail suggests the crack paste came from the same source or supplier. Investigators now believe this drug network is part of a much larger drug trafficking organization. They are actively looking into possible connections with other drug seizures made in the past.

Law enforcement officials believe the homes raided in Lezica were not places where drugs were sold directly to users. Instead, they think these locations served as important distribution points within the larger drug network. The three individuals still detained—the officer, her daughter, and the teenager—have been handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office. They will now decide how much each person participated in these crimes and what their responsibilities are. It turns out the detained police officer currently works in the Metropolitan Patrol Response Unit of Operational Zone II, making her alleged involvement even more concerning.
