Lewis Hamilton, driving for Ferrari, truly showed his class today in Baku. He clocked the best lap of the entire practice sessions, a swift 1 minute, 41.293 seconds. This impressive performance came in the afternoon, putting him firmly atop the leaderboard. His teammate, Charles Leclerc, wasn’t far behind, trailing by just 0.074 seconds. It signals a strong start for the Ferrari team ahead of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

The day began with a different name at the top. Lando Norris initially led the first practice session, setting a time of 1 minute, 42.704 seconds. However, the initial session wasn’t without its drama. A red flag halted play when Carlos Sainz crashed his Williams car. The tight street circuit proved tricky for several drivers. Australian Oscar Piastri, piloting his McLaren, brushed the wall but thankfully escaped without damage. Norris himself also had a moment, losing control of his car during the demanding runs.

With the practice sessions now wrapped up, all eyes turn to the next critical stage. The qualifying session is scheduled to kick off later today at 1:00 PM. Drivers will push their limits to secure the best grid positions, hoping to carry momentum into Sunday’s main race.
