Lewis Hamilton Blames Ferrari Performance Issues for Disappointing Start to Season

Lewis Hamilton thinks the Ferrari is a strong car. He just can’t get the most out of it right now. After six races, he’s seventh in the Formula 1 standings. His best recent result was winning the sprint race at the Chinese Grand Prix. He also got pole position for that short race.

In Miami, Hamilton finished third in the sprint but only eighth in the main race. He qualified 12th. “I think the car has good performance, but something’s holding us back,” Hamilton said. “We’ve lost some competitiveness since China. We have the pace, we just can’t use it.”

To move forward, Hamilton suggests focusing on other areas for small improvements. During the Miami race, Hamilton argued with his engineer over the radio. He wanted Charles Leclerc to let him pass. Leclerc eventually did, but Hamilton couldn’t pull ahead. Leclerc then tried to regain his position.

Team Dynamics and Performance

Hamilton and Leclerc’s on-track interactions highlight the challenges Ferrari faces. The team needs to find a way to unlock their car’s full potential. For now, Hamilton is focused on making small gains. “Until we sort out this issue, we’re stuck,” he said.
