Lewandowski and the 2026 World Cup: "It depends on my desire"

The Pole Robert Lewandowski, one of the disappointments of the World Cup, took stock after the elimination of his team in the round of 16 and referred to the possibility of being in the next Cup, to be played in 2026 in Canada, Mexico and the United States.

“Physically, I’m not afraid of reaching another World Cup. There are many more things that can influence, like everything that surrounds the game, your desire, your happiness. All of that can decide if you play more World Cups or not,” said the player 34 years old.

Lewandowski closed the Cup with two goals, one from a penalty (he missed another), and about the 3-1 loss against France he analyzed: “In the first half we played very well and created some chances. Perhaps, if we had scored the one we had, we would have “Everything changed. We struggled in the second half, we tried, but France have great quality as a team. We tried everything, but we lost.”

Poland was in Group C of the World Cup, where they ranked second on goal difference after adding a draw with Mexico (0-0), the victory over Saudi Arabia (2-0) and the loss against Argentina (2-0).
