Les Grappes offers selections of wines to buy in a few clicks

Winegrowers, we like them, but it’s not always easy to buy their wine. Minimum purchase volume, payment by cheque, sometimes slow shipping… Not to mention that, among these 30,000 winegrowers, there is, dare we say, food and drink. That’s good, LesGrappes, the marketplace created in 2014 by this former computer scientist, has removed all these “irritants”. Its site lists the production of 1,200 harvesting winegrowers and makes the purchasing process super simple, in just a few clicks.

The customer can limit his order to three bottles, have a variegated offer from six, thanks to the packaging provided by Les Grappes. And the stock status is regularly checked. Better, the site tells us the history of the producers (in partnership with Le Parisien) and allows to exchange opinions in a community spirit. “We are not looking for completeness, explains Loïc Tanguy. Of the 50 listing requests that we receive each month from new winegrowers, we only keep five, after tasting by our selection committee.”

Wines ? Eco-labels – organic, nature, biodynamic, Demeter – represent 50% of the offer. No grand crus from Bordeaux or great Burgundies here, nor flashy promotions. Les Grappes aim for good value for money with an average price of 13 euros. Either all the same an average basket of 120 euros.

Fans rejoice. But since the launch in 2018 of a site for pros, it is the clientele of restaurateurs and hoteliers (and independent supermarkets) that weighs the heaviest (70%) in the turnover of 10 million euros. euros. “We make life easier for those who want to have an original wine list”, assures Loïc Tanguy, who has notably signed with the Bertrand Group, Partouche, the chain of luxury campsites Huttopia or even several renowned hotels such as Madame Rêve in Paris or Aman Le Mélézin in Courchevel.

From now on, Les Grappes intends to promote the French viticultural pool abroad by helping winegrowers to export. Cap has already been set for Italy. Fundraising could support this movement.
