Leroy Sané, Liverpool’s new winter market destination

Liverpool is at the center of transfer speculation as the club is reportedly preparing a bold move to sign German winger Leroy Sané from Bayern Munich during the January transfer window.

With Sané’s contract at the Allianz Arena expiring in the summer of 2025, several clubs, including Manchester City and Manchester United, have expressed interest in the 27-year-old. However, according to journalist Ekrem Konur, Liverpool are keen to secure his signature when the winter market begins.

Bayern Munich have been working hard to extend Sané’s contract but negotiations are still ongoing and Liverpool see a chance to lure the Germany international back to the Premier League.

Sané has been in excellent form this season, contributing nine goals and seven assists in 19 appearances in all competitions. His ability to score goals and create chances has made him a valuable asset for Bayern, but his future remains in doubt.

The German winger moved from Manchester City to FC Bayern Munich in 2020 and was a key player in the team with 47 goals and 44 assists in 152 appearances.

With Mohamed Salah linked with a possible move to Saudi Arabia, Liverpool are looking to secure quality attacking options. Although the team has players like Diogo Jota and Darwin Núñez, the inclusion of Sané could be an effective solution to a possible departure of Salah.

Although Liverpool have also been linked with Kylian Mbappé, the French striker’s future appears to lie with Real Madrid. Meanwhile, Liverpool, under Jurgen Klopp’s leadership, is looking to strengthen its squad and remain a contender in the Premier League and other competitions. The interest in Sané promises to create excitement in the transfer market in January.
