Cruzeiro manager Leonardo Jardim has reached a milestone – 10 official games in charge. The team’s latest result was a loss to Bragantino on matchday five of the Brasileirão. Jardim’s side has won just two, drawn three, and lost five of those 10 games.
The manager believes it’s too early to judge his progress. “I’m a person who thinks in the long term,” he said. “We’re just getting started.” Jardim is enjoying the Brazilian football experience, which was one of his career ambitions.
Jardim wishes he had a transfer window to strengthen his squad. “We’re getting better, but there’s still a long way to go,” he said. He aims to bring a mix of intelligence, strategy, and emotion to the team. Jardim noted that Brazilian football is very emotional, and sometimes that emotion can override strategy and rational thinking.
