Leganés Winger Juan Cruz Considers Paternity Leave for Club Exit

Football often throws us curveballs, but this one? This is a whole new pitch. Leganés, after dropping down to the Spanish second division last season, is facing a fresh headache. Their winger, Juan Cruz, isn’t happy. He really wants to leave the club. But Leganés has some big demands. They are putting up a fight.

Juan Cruz wants to leave Leganés

Juan Cruz is 25 years old. Many teams are looking to sign him. Some of these interested clubs are even from Portugal. But here’s the kicker: Juan Cruz is thinking about taking a drastic step. According to the newspaper ‘Marca’, it’s something Spanish football has never witnessed. Get this: Juan Cruz is about to become a father. ‘Marca’ says he is seriously considering asking Leganés for paternity leave. He wants the club to let him go.

Leganés owns 60 percent of his player rights. They are demanding 10 million Euros to release him. Two of the teams that want him, Rayo Vallecano and Alavés, have made offers. They are offering 5 million Euros for that same 60 percent share. This amount is not making the Leganés bosses happy at all. It’s a real standoff for the club now playing in the second tier.
