Legacy secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over fellow Brazilian team paiN Gaming in the quarter-finals of the PGL Masters Bucharest Counter-Strike 2 tournament on Friday.
The intense best-of-three series eliminated paiN Gaming, despite their undefeated run in the prior stage, and propelled Legacy into the semi-finals.
This matchup pitted the two sole Brazilian contenders against each other early in the knockout bracket, guaranteeing at least one South American team would advance.
Legacy took the first map, Inferno, with a dominant 13-7 score on their chosen map.
PaiN Gaming responded by winning their selected map, Dust2, 13-10, leveling the series.
The decisive third map, Nuke, saw Legacy close out the series with another strong 13-7 performance, securing their spot in the next round.

Legacy will now face European team SAW in another best-of-three semi-final match.
That contest is scheduled for Friday at 5 PM UTC, or 2 PM local time in Brasília.
PaiN Gaming had entered the quarter-finals with a strong 3-0 record in the previous stage, making their early exit in the knockout rounds a notable outcome.
