Legacy Stumbles at StarLadder Budapest CS2 Major, Stage 2 in Doubt

Brazilian Counter-Strike 2 team Legacy saw its comfortable path to the next stage of the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 complicated after a significant defeat, even as other national teams face varied outcomes.

Legacy lost 0-2 to B8 in a best-of-three series on Wednesday, November 26, pushing their record in the tournament’s first stage to two wins and two losses. This reversal means the team now faces a decisive match to secure advancement.

The defeat came after Legacy had started strong with two victories, making their situation more precarious. Before Wednesday’s match, the team had also suffered an earlier loss to FlyQuest.

While Legacy navigates a tougher route, one Brazilian squad, MIBR, has already secured its place in the Major’s second stage. However, another hopeful, RED Canids, was eliminated after a 2-1 loss against FaZe.

The specific map scores in Legacy’s loss to B8 were 16-12 on Dust2 and 13-5 on Mirage, both in favor of B8. Legacy, featuring player Eduardo “dumau” Wolkmer, had previously been on a winning streak before this setback.

Following their loss, the team acknowledged the result online.

The StarLadder Budapest Major 2025 continues its first phase. Brazilian teams Fluxo and Imperial are still competing for a spot in the next stage alongside Legacy.
