Legacy Breaks Vitality’s 30-Match Win Streak at BLAST.tv Austin Major

Counter-Strike 2 History Made

Legacy, a Brazilian CS2 team, just broke the second-longest winning streak in Counter-Strike history. They beat Vitality, the world’s top-ranked team, which had won 30 games in a row and five titles consecutively. Vitality’s last loss was on January 24 against Eternal Fire.

Legacy wasn’t even supposed to be in the competition. They got in because BESTIA, which had already qualified, couldn’t get their visas on time. Now, they’re making the most of their chance, creating history one step at a time.

Bruno “latto” Rebelatto, a Legacy player, said in a post-game interview with Fillipe “bt0” Moreno:

“I think desire makes the difference. Everyone’s really motivated, celebrating each round, understanding that every round matters. I think that’s what keeps us grounded.” – Latto

Their next match hasn’t been set yet, but it’ll happen later today after all the MD1 rounds are finished in a Swiss format. Other Brazilian teams competing include paiN Gaming, which faces Spirit at 1 pm (Brasília time), and FURIA, which will play next.
