LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo lead the 2023 NBA All-Star Game roster

Less than a month from 2023 NBA All-Star Gamewhich will be played on February 19 in Salt Lake City, the league has announced the players who will make up the starting five and the captains of each of the two teams.

To define the initial basketball players, the fan vote was worth 50 percent, that of the media 25 and that of the current players the remaining 25. The alternates, voted on by the coaches of each conference, will be announced on February 2.

Since the last vote count for the incumbents there have not been many changes, except for the loss of Anthony Davis and the addition of Zion Williamson.

Western Conference starters

James he finished voting as captain for the sixth consecutive year. The future NBA scoring record holder is averaging 29.9 points, 8.5 rebounds and 7.0 assists in his 20th professional season.

Curry was the MVP of the last All-Star Game and this year he registers 29.3 points per game on 42 percent shooting from three points. This is his ninth appearance in the All-Star Game.

Luka Doncic | Dallas Mavericks | PG

Fourth year in a row in which ‘Luka Magic’ is invited to the NBA All-Star Game. At the moment, Doncic aims to be the scoring champion of the season with an average of 33.8 points per game.

Nikola Jokic | Denver Nuggets | C.

For the fifth time in his time in the NBA, Jokic will be part of the All-Star Game. The Serbian center leads the league with 15 triple doubles in 42 games played during the 2022-23 season.

The Duke product is the All-Star holder with fewer appearances in the midseason game since in his young career he has only earned two invitations. So far, Williamson has played in 29 games and is averaging 26 points, 70 rebounds and 4.6 assists.

Despite being sidelined since Jan. 8 with a knee injury, KD was considered an All-Star Game starter in his 13th appearance. During the season he has recorded three games of 40 or more points.

kyrie irving | Brooklyn Nets | PG

Since Durant’s injury, Kyrie Irving has taken over the scoring responsibility for the Nets and has recorded at least 30 points in the last four games played. This will be the eighth participation of the point guard in the star event.

Donovan mitchell | Cleveland Cavaliers | SG

After three straight All-Star Games as a member of the Jazz, ‘Spida’ was not out of place in his first season with the Cavs and received another invitation. Mitchell’s highlight in 2022-23 was the 71-point game against the Chicago Bulls.
