Lebanon: terrible explosion in a truck full of fuel

A bomb blast near the northern Lebanese city of Acar killed at least 20 people, according to a foreign news agency.

According to the International Committee of the Red Cross, the incident took place in the northern Lebanese city of Acar, and the cause of the explosion was not immediately known.

“Our teams have transported 20 bodies and more than seven people injured in the tanker explosion to a nearby hospital,” the Red Cross said in a tweet.

According to the World Bank, Lebanon is currently facing its worst economic crisis since 1850 and the country has faced fuel shortages for several months. Due to fuel shortages, many areas have only two hours of electricity a day. Many hospitals have warned that they will have to close their services due to the energy crisis.

Continued blackouts in Lebanon also affected oil supplies on Friday, and long lines were seen at gasoline pumps that still have supply.

It should be remembered that oil importers had already warned of the oil shortage and demanded that the previous exchange rate be maintained for the purchase and sale of oil.
